One of the largest tech firms in the world approached The Total Office with a problem – employees were bored of their current workspace, leading to a drop in productivity and overall engagement. To make things harder for the workspace management team, was the limited space and scope to improve or change the current set-up.

After a quick brainstorming session with stakeholders, we identified Orangebox’s Smart working products to be ideal solutions. The lift lobby areas on each floor were the only available spaces to house the new working areas. In a welcome departure from traditional workstations, we worked with the facilities team to space plan and design a solution that involved a more casual style of working, and one that promoted a sense of freedom, mobility, energy, and social interaction. The “Peeps” soft seating collection, coupled with the beautiful “Lano” table provided the right functionality for the project.

An interesting element to the project was the use aof a mix of different seating options to complement the Lano table. The Hay, Coda, Sully,and Bloom were thrown into the mix, creating a fun vibe in the workspace. Furthermore, The use of Camira Fabrics provided the aesthetic beauty needed to uplift the environment. We used a mix of finishes that we were grouped under an orange, blue, and green theme for each floor respectively.

The lift lobbies have transformed into the most active and social areas in the workspace. At no point during the workday will you find the Lano table or the peeps soft seating unoccupied – they’ve become a popular and preferred spot for teams across departments to work with. The areas are blessed with plenty of natural sunlight, adding to the warm vibes in the space.
