Social Responsibility

Go Green..

Energy crisis, pure water supply, deforestation; the list goes on. It is clear that in today’s day and age, the industrialized world consumes in a way that is not sustainable. Which makes each of us responsible to reverse the negatives we have been seeding through the years. The way we live now is what drives our tomorrows.

The Total office, member of the Emirates Green Building council, believes it can make a difference. From the raw material we deploy to our recycling programs, we are well on our way to making the world a well-balanced place to live in. 80% of our suppliers use wood from FSC or PEFC certified forests which goes to verify that the wood source is from a responsibly managed forest. As for our production processes, all our facilities have recycling programs with Emirates Environmental Group to
result in a more sustainable outcome.

Our efforts have granted us the honor of our facilities being awarded the LEED Certification and LEED SIlver along with being the first organization to produce Green Guard Certified Products in the Middle East.

Our Certifications

While these certifications are a great initiative in the movement to being environmentally sustainable, they are only the beginning. We are continuously looking to make a difference by addressing the three pillars of sustainability – Economic, Social & Environmental.

Surge for Water

Surge provides sustainable safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions, in an effort to change the world one drop at a time.

In a world in which 2,300 people die every day because of inadequate drinking water and sanitation, Surge takes a multi-faceted approach to reach as many people as possible.

The Crisis

Nearly 663 million people lack improved drinking water access and 2.4 billion lack improved sanitation services.

Water related issues are a growing problem. By 2025 two-thirds of the world could live in areas of water stress, due to population growth and the changing climate’s impact on water availability.
